RESEARCH LAB

human trafficking vulnerability lab

WE Research knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and practices around human trafficking globally.

The Human Trafficking Vulnerability (HTV) lab is a research group based at the University of California, Berkeley and York University (Canada). The lab applies experimental methods to study the impact of awareness campaigns on norms and behaviors that leave people vulnerable to labor exploitation and human trafficking. Thus far, data have been collected in Nepal and Hong Kong with a specific focus on populations that are either vulnerable to trafficking and labor exploitation or responsible for mitigating it. This includes the general public, law enforcement, employers, and migrant domestic workers.
